About: SingleStore is a converged data platform for transactions and analytics, which organizations can use to process and analyze their most important time-critical application workloads. Companies around the world can use SingleStore to gain faster insights, eliminate complexity, and substantially lower the costs related to their data strategies, handling structured, unstructured and semi-structured data. Founded in 2011 and headquarted in Sao Francisco, SingleStore employs over 200 people across its offices, being present today at Portland, Sillicon Valley, London, Ukraine and Portugal.

Formerly MemSQL, the company faced last year a name change in order to describe the organisation value proposition.

They were able to close last year with a "modest" 80 million funding, in order to better focus on their Product. SingleStore wants to expand their team in Portugal while nurturing some great clients including Sony, Uber, Verizon and Intel.

This is a development role, requiring an engineering mindset to solve operational challenges. You will be part of a globally distributed team of engineers, helping to drive SRE practices across the company. Through infrastructure automation, you will help us grow our service across multiple cloud platforms. This requires a relentless focus on eliminating manual processes. You will also leverage our monitoring platform to improve overall customer experience by systematically identifying and fixing any issues impacting our customers. As an SRE you will also help diagnose issues on the platform, leveraging a deep understanding of the SingleStore query engine along with the backend infrastructure.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop the software powering their world-class cloud service;
• Deploy software and large scale stateful systems on Kubernetes clusters in multiple cloud providers;
• Be an active participant in planning what they will build next;
• Own complex features from specification to production;
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables;
• Review code contributions from team members;
• Continuously improve their developer experience.
  

Required:

• Extensive experience working on a cloud-native product (Golang preferred);
• Deep interest and experience working with distributed systems, databases, networking, storage, and multi-tenant services;
• Experience running production services on Kubernetes;
• B.S. degree in Computer Science or a similar field;
• Fluency in English.
